Why a new record label? The reason is so easy – and so complex at the same time. The keynote is: Something has got to happen. We don’t need more of your idols.

Years of experience in playing in bands, hundreds of times playing until our fingers bled, innumberable times of sleeping on the floors of some nice people who have been so kind offering shelter to us, still makes us feel like crying once in a while if we have to see that TV stations create so called “Stars” who sign advertising contracts for teenage acne ointments right after having their (of course!) first number one hit.
As a consequence we ask ourselves: What has all this to do with music? Right, absolutely nothing.

Something has got to happen.

Well, if you are around in the so called “business” for a while, you are able to find a new challenge in supporting new and talented bands or musicians noone is listen or paying attenation to in the conventional music business procedures. We don’t ask ourselves why it is that way anymore since a long time ago. We want to counteract this. And we are working together with like-minded persons. It’s good that we are not the only ones who believe: Something has got to happen.

The strategy is so simple and, of course, not new at all. In contrast it is ancient, and maybe that’s why it is so great. It’s called: Independent. It contains small releases of great artists full of passion who are allowed to enjoy their creativity, communicate their messages and put their concepts into practice with us. It’s nice to sell a lot of records, but this is not the main intention or motivation of DevilDuck Records. We would like to offer a forum and give artists the chance of self-realization, self-development and self-modification. In the foreground there is nothing but loving music – no trends, no shift of market, no commercial goals.

According to this, there are no restrictions at DevilDuck. Rock, pop, whatever. We don’t care about music categories too much.
